Tsunami Hits Hawaii
On March 11, 2011 A powerful 8.9 magnitude earthquake shook Honshu northeast of Japan, which set off a massive tsunami that pummeled the area with a wall of water and it’s heading to Hawaii. Her are a few photos from the devastation from around the state as well as some video clips of the tidal wave tsunami. Prayers go out to all the families and victims in Japan as well as here in Hawaii. Aloha More info you can follow me on twitter.com or go to www.renomakani.com
thanks for sharing , love the music , whats the title and artist
Much MAHALO for this video. It is well done and very inspirational. “Starting All Over Again” is what we’ve all been gifted with by GOD. The pieces picked up and life goes on. Aloha no.
Thank you for posting this compilation of videos and pictures. We love Kailua and have spent a lot of time on Ali’i drive in those shops and restaurants. Looks like the road took a beating down by the Atlantis Submarines. Does anyone know how much damage at Pu’uhonoa O Honaunau? Getting Kona news is next to impossible here on the mainland.
Who’s the artist of this song?
@Toontown2281 Maui, Oahu and Big Island “Hawaii”
@jacqueline6001 Isreal Kamakawiwo’ole
Thank you for sharing, Love the music! Praying for everyone involved.
@jacqueline6001 how do you not know the artist?!
Wasn’t even that bad.
@banzuke21 The damage in the video with the house floating and the flooded street with 20MPH sign are from the end by Capt Cook Monument..
what island is this. is it the big island?
@islandboy6677 All Big Island shots, Kona side
Always love Iz!!
why do people dislike this? this is our aina, our home. praying for japan and being thankful that a small tsunami is all that hit us. ali’i drive will recover, as we all will. praying for the loss </3
@banzuke21 I was wondering about Puuhonua o Honaunau too. Luckily I have friends and many of my relatives live there.
I’m non Hawaiian but wife is, are fam in kahalui had water in front yard I hope all
Is well to you all.
Much respect

Bruddah IZ!! I hope you guys do OK after this – it looks like the buildings near the beach got hit pretty hard. Hang loose!
Bruddah IZ!!
Wonderful post…just beautiful. I concur with another poster – on the mainland we cannot get any news about the damage in Hawaii. If not for You Tube posters such as yourself one would think that nothing happened in Hawaii at all. We have been extremely fortunate to have visited paradise on Earth (a/k/a the Big Island) several times. Each time we left, a piece of us remained behind…and a piece of the Island remained in our hearts. Thank you again and RIP Bruddah Iz.
@jacqueline6001 Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
i hope all my family and everyone living there is okay !

such a fantastic video.
Mahalo for such a Hawaiian spiritual treatment of the tsunami. I’ll send it to a contact in Japan and “dedicate” to the Japanese who are suffering so much greater than we here in Hawaii.
