I talk a little bit about my hair color and the reddish-brown color I used to dye my roots.

Go for it! It’s more of a dark reddish-brown like what you see with my roots.

Your sisterlocks are beautiful! I struggle with coloring my hair also. I usually freshen the roots and it usually blends.

I colored my hair before locking and about 5-6 months after locking. I wouldn’t recommend it though because it leads to bunching and unraveling. You’re better off waiting until your locs mature.

No. I’ve never tried a natural dye before. Have you and if so, what was the result?

No it doesn’t, but relaxing your hair will if you over process it at some point, because the damaging chemicals weaken your hair and can lead to breakage and even balding.

Thank you for your response. Ur locks are so beautiful I feel better that there is hope for me now :) ). I am definately going to leave the dye alone until my locks completely mature.

Your experience is no different from mine because the same thing happened to me. The only advice I can give is to not color your locks anymore until they have matured. If you do dye them then condition them immediately after.

Wish that I had had the same result as you when i colored my sl. My sisterlocks are 10months old. After I dyed them they got really fuzzy and dry, with alot of bunching on the ends. And nothing that I have tried has gotten the healthy look back. Im temped to cut them off and start over. Any advice.

Yes. If you want SLs then I would recommend having someone start them from you (because the initial process is time consuming and hard work), but you can start them yourself using different methods to achieve similar results.

    You are absolutely stunning!

I hope that when I start dyeing my hair, that it will look as perfectly complementary to my skin tone as your hair complements your skin tone :3
