KENTUCKY NEWS: Dana Altman Has Confirmed That Assistant Coach Kenny Payne, From Oregon To Kentucky

Oregon Coach Dana Altman confirmed Wednesday that assistant coach Kenny Payne gave John Calipari ducks employees to join in Kentucky, according to the Oregonian.

“He did a great job for us, and I really wanted him to stay,” said Altman, according to the Oregonian story.” It’s kind of an awkward beginning, because I do not know, Kenny, when I arrived here a month ago, but a week later, I’m very comfortable around him and offered him a job and he wanted to stay.

“But he has a number of proposals on the table and look at all, and he went to Kentucky last weekend and liked a lot, it was like he was in his interest and his family in the interest of Kentucky.”

Payne is the friend of Calipari and his move to Lexington was the speech, as previously Altman took the concert head coach in Oregon.
