Happy Pi Day (3.14) Domino Spiral
Or Half Tau Day…to mark the day, I’ve made my biggest spiral yet…and using a formula with Pi, I estimated the total dominos in this spiral to be 10178.75 dominos. I counted the dominos and the estimate was close. 10059 dominos were actually used. Take a guess at how long this took to fall…and see if you guessed right when I upload extras on my ‘MoreFlippyCat’ channel including the real-time fall down of this spiral later in the week. Can you spot the 2 hidden references to 3.14? This music in this video is by Joseph Stern: www.youtube.com twitter.com The world record for a domino spiral is 28800 (450m) by mmcodomino: www.youtube.com
it wasnt posted on pi day.
wow that took 12 hrs to set it all up… :O
very creative.! great job
woooooow soooooo muchh patienceee !
Pi Day is also my brother’s birthday.
Woah, you looked like my bro at first, haha
you know what you should try, so you set up the dominos. and the camera is from the top (so that you can only see the tops of the dominos) and all the tops of the dominos are painted white. so that at first it’s all white, but the sides are all diff colours, so that you only see the colour once it falls over. and then you make it so they make a picture or something, and you wont know what it is till they all fall over.
@AsifIcarebear3 look at the clock. it goes on for days
@xlink010 realized that years ago
@FlippyCat ok, so it was just me thinking wrong XD Thanks for setting me straight on this, still keep up the good work on the domino’s

@andy120195 If he starts at 3:14, and ends at 3:14…there’s no video…

So THAT’S why all my UCLA friends posted pictures of eating pie.
@jkjkjij22 sounds like a challenging and awesome idea. Must see!
It’s interesting how you learned from your mistakes and later on stopped placing complete circles in one go, and leaving gaps in between to fill at last, so that if one domino fell, one whole circle didn’t go with it..
I admire your patience, with that many failures and mishaps I would have given up a long time ago.
